Finding and seeking treatment for mental health problems when young can improve academic performance, head-off later trauma and lead to years more of happy, productive life. Children are not immune to the same mental health concerns adults face, though sometimes matters like anxiety, depression, ADHD and others present differently. At Willowbrooke at Tanner, our trained mental health professionals specialize in helping children and adolescents overcome problems and live a healthy life. School-based therapists One way we work to reach children early and support families is through our school-based therapy program. By embedding licensed master’s-level therapists in area schools and school districts, we can support students, staff and parents — identifying mental health concerns earlier, increasing access to treatment and helping students overcome academic and behavioral barriers to learning and thriving. We’ve partnered with several local districts, including: Carroll County Schools Carrollton City Schools Cartersville City Schools Haralson County School District Heard County School System To reach a school-based counselor in your child’s school district, call the Willowbrooke Counseling Center at 770-812-8863 or speak to the school counselor at your or your child’s school. Free mental health screenings A free, confidential mental health screening with a master’s-level clinician can determine which level of care is needed and find resources to help.
