Patient Advocacy and Compliance

Your voice. Your rights. Your care.

Our patient experience representatives — also known as patient advocates — play a vital role in ensuring every patient and caregiver feels supported, respected and well-informed throughout their healthcare journeys.

They serve as non-clinical liaisons between patients, their families and the care team. Their mission is to protect patient rights, facilitate clear communication and ensure a positive, respectful experience.

What we do:

  • Support and education: We empower patients and caregivers with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their care.
  • Mediation and resolution: We address concerns promptly and work to find fair, compassionate solutions.
  • Advocacy for patient rights: We ensure patients' rights are respected, including privacy, confidentiality and the right to make informed decisions.
  • Promoting a culture of safety: We help identify safety concerns, support safe practices and advocate for patients' physical and emotional well-being.
  • Feedback and improvement: We gather patient and family feedback to improve care and service quality.

Need to speak to a patient advocate? Our patient advocates visit inpatient units daily to offer support. If you'd like to speak with a patient advocate, please call 770-812-8676.

Standards and compliance

Our patient advocates help ensure compliance with key healthcare standards, including those set by The Joint Commission and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

These standards focus on patient rights, safety and complaint resolution, ensuring high-quality care and support.

If you suspect a compliance or ethical violation, we encourage you to speak up.
