Tiffany Stanfill Thomas, MD, Joining West Georgia Healthcare for Women



Tiffany Stanfill Thomas, MD, is joining Amy Dodson, DO, David Helton, MD, and the rest of the patient care team at West Georgia Healthcare for Women, part of Tanner Medical Group.

Dr. Thomas earned her medical degree from the Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Ga., and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon. She earned her bachelor’s of science in biology from the University of West Georgia, graduating magna cum laude.

While completing her medical residency, Dr. Thomas served as medical correspondent for WMGT-TV in Macon and as a medical columnist for the Herald-Leader newspaper in Fitzgerald, Ga. She also taught for Kaplan Test Prep at the University of West Georgia, Emory University and Georgia Southern University. She currently serves as an adjunct instructor for the Gwinnett County Fire Department's emergency medical technician (EMT) and paramedic programs for obstetrics and gynecology. Her primary research included studying postpartum depression rates in middle Georgia, where she implemented a CenteringPregnancy program and received March of Dimes and MEDCEN grants.

With West Georgia Healthcare for Women, Dr. Thomas will work to advance the wellbeing of women of all ages — from teens to senior adults. As part of Tanner Medical Group, patients at West Georgia Healthcare for Women have access to the state-of-the-art surgical services center, diagnostic imaging services and W. Steve Worthy Maternity Center at Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton.
