Tanner, Tanner Executives Recognized in Recent Becker’s Hospital Review Lists

Tanner Health System has been making its mark on Becker’s Hospital Review’s 2015 lists.

Becker’s has recently named Tanner Health System to its 2015 “150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare” list; named Tanner Health System President and CEO Loy Howardto its 2015 “50 Rural Hospital CEOs to Know” list and profiled him as a “CEO to Know”; named Tanner Health System Chief Information Officer (CIO) Maria Russo to its 2015 “100 Hospital and Health System CIOs to Know” and “24 Female Hospital and Health System CIOs to Know” lists; and profiled Tanner Health System Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Carol Crews as “moving through the ranks at Tanner Health System.”

“Most people outside the healthcare industry have probably never heard of Becker’s Hospital Review, but it’s a well respected magazine in our industry. Health systems, hospitals and leadership cannot pay for inclusion in Becker’s annual lists, so it’s a real honor for Tanner and Tanner leadership to be selected and included” said Howard, pictured below. “I’d like to congratulate our CIO, Maria Russo, and CFO, Carol Crews, for being profiled on Becker’s Web site. And we’re all extremely proud that Tanner is included in the 150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare list for 2015.”

According to Becker’s, the 150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare list was developed through a combination of nominations and editorial research. The organizations on the list were chosen for their benefits offerings, wellness programs, commitment to diversity and inclusion, professional development opportunities and environments that promote employee satisfaction and work-life balance. Many of the organizations on the list, including Tanner, have been recognized by national, state or local organizations for their workplace culture or employee satisfaction scores. The 50 presidents, CEOs and administrators on Becker’s 50 Rural Hospital CEOs to Know list are dedicated to advancing healthcare in their communities and are tackling the challenges of providing healthcare in rural or small towns with vigor. For this list, "rural" was defined as being located outside of a major metropolitan area or healthcare hub. Leaders were selected for inclusion through an editorial process where a number of factors were considered, including awards received; local, regional and national leadership positions held; and their organizations' recent performance. Nominations were also considered.
