Tanner Hosting ‘Control When You Go’ Education Session for Women in Roanoke
Wednesday, February 22, 2017
Women are twice as likely to experience issues with losing urine involuntarily as men — but many choose to live with the condition than seek a clinical solution, often waiting longer than six years before seeking treatment.
James Cullison, MD, will lead a special information session for women on Wednesday, March 22, from noon to 1 p.m. The session will be held at the Annie L. Awbrey Public Library in Roanoke, at 736 College Street. A complimentary lunch will be provided. Seating is limited.
This educational event, a part of Tanner Health System’s Advancing Your Health education series, will give women the opportunity to learn about the latest treatments available from a certified specialist in women’s urological health.
The National Association for Continence reports that at least one in four women over the age of 18 experience leaking urine involuntarily. Pregnancy, menopause, bowel problems and more can all contribute to urinary and bowel incontinence.
Dr. Cullison’s Advancing Your Health education session, “Control When You Go,” will cover the diagnosis and treatment of issues related to urinary and bowel incontinence. He is a board-certified urologist with West Georgia Urology and a member of the medical staff at Tanner Health System. He has earned a subspecialty in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery, enabling him to provide special insight into the diagnosis and effective treatment of urinary and bowel problems.
The discussion is free to attend. Registration is required. To register, visit www.tanner.org/controlwhenyougo or call 1.888.799.6309.
