Tanner Medical Foundation has received a generous $25,000 contribution from Honda to support and enhance Tanner’s Get Healthy, Live Well program in west Georgia.
Get Healthy, Live Well has been committed to providing the community with essential resources to lead healthier lifestyles, support disease prevention and provide education on the management of chronic conditions since its inception in 2012. With continued support from community partners, volunteers and generous donors, the program has made significant strides in making our communities healthier places to live, learn, work and play.
“We are incredibly grateful to Honda for their support,” said Tonya Fulks, outreach and operations manager for Get Healthy, Live Well. “This contribution is a significant investment in the health and well-being of our community. Individuals and families across the community will benefit from greater access to resources and support for leading healthier lives. We are committed to using this funding to create sustainable, long-term programming and services that will enhance the quality of life for all community members.”
Financial support from Honda and other organizations enables Get Healthy, Live Well to achieve its goals: reducing health disparities, decreasing obesity rates, preventing and managing chronic disease, eliminating tobacco use, increasing physical activity and improving nutrition across all areas of the community.
Honda’s support will focus on programming in Carroll, Haralson and Heard counties, providing critical funding for sustained community education and outreach. These efforts will increase access to individual health assessments, promote healthy lifestyles that help manage and prevent chronic diseases and connect participants with ongoing care coordination as needed.
By partnering with schools, businesses and faith-based organizations and leveraging innovative community-clinical linkages, Get Healthy, Live Well is able to reach community members across various sectors, significantly impacting regional health.
