Full-time orthopedic care is now available in Villa Rica as Shomari Ruffin, MD, joins Carrollton Orthopaedic Clinic and the patient care team at Tanner Ortho and Spine Center.

Dr. Ruffin is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist. He earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine’s Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation in Jacksonville, Fla.

He also completed a fellowship in sports medicine at the American Sports Medicine Institute at Lemak Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics in Birmingham, Ala. He holds bachelor’s degrees in biology and psychology from the University of Georgia in Athens and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

While orthopedic care has been available in Villa Rica through Carrollton Orthopaedic Clinic for years, Dr. Ruffin’s full-time status at the Villa Rica location expands access to care, with more appointment availability for area residents to find specialized orthopedic services closer to home.
