Public Statement Concerning Sept. 24 Event at Higgins General Hospital

At about 12:25 p.m. this afternoon, staff from Higgins General Hospital notified Tanner Security and the Bremen Police Department that an individual had ascended to the roof of a medical office building adjacent to the hospital. Representatives from Tanner Health System, the Bremen Police Department, Bremen Fire Rescue, the Haralson County Sheriff's Office, AmbuCare EMS and the Carrollton Fire Department responded.
Together, they were able to peacefully resolve the situation, bringing the individual off the roof via ladder truck with help from the individual's loved ones and behavioral health professionals from Willowbrooke at Tanner. The individual was escorted to the hospital's emergency department for a medical evaluation. The scene was resolved just before 2 p.m.
