Kaysi Benefield, DO, and Tiffany Stanfill Thomas, MD, Establish Tanner Healthcare for Women in Villa Rica

Kaysi Benefield, DO, and Tiffany Stanfill Thomas, MD, are establishing a new medical practice, Tanner Healthcare for Women, to advance the health of women throughout Carroll, Douglas and Paulding counties.
Dr. Benefield formerly practiced at Southeast Women’s Center in Smithfield, N.C., and Clayton, N.C. She earned her degree in osteopathic medicine from the Georgia Campus – Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Suwanee, Ga., and a certificate in biomedical sciences at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, Pa. She earned her bachelor’s in applied biology at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr. Benefield completed her internship at St. Petersburg General Hospital in Florida and her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center of the Permian Basin in Odessa, Texas.
Dr. Stanfill Thomas joined West Georgia Healthcare for Women, a Tanner Medical Group practice, two years ago. Board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, she earned her medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Ga., and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Medical Center of Central Georgia, also in Macon. Dr. Stanfill Thomas earned her bachelor’s in biology from the University of West Georgia.
Tanner Healthcare for Women will provide a wide range of gynecologic and obstetrics services, including care for: abnormal pap tests; uterine bleeding; sexually transmitted infections (STIs); menopause; endometriosis, laparoscopy; infertility; family planning; sterilization; ultrasonography; urogynecology issues such as frequent urination and urinary incontinence; prenatal care and delivery (vaginal and cesarean), ultrasound, gestational diabetes, hypertension pregnancy, incompetent cervix, premature labor and multiple-gestation pregnancy.
The new practice is located in the VillaWest medical office building adjacent to Tanner Medical Center/ Villa Rica. As part of Tanner Medical Group, Tanner Healthcare for Women has access to all the resources of Tanner Health System, including the Maternity Center and surgical services center at Tanner Medical Center/Villa Rica, the powerful diagnostic capabilities of Tanner Breast Health and more.
