Christopher Powell, MD, Joins West Georgia Urology

Christopher Powell, MD, is joining West Georgia Urology and the medical staff of Tanner Health System.
Dr. Powell earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and completed his residency in urology at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City. He holds a bachelor’s in biology from Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Ga., and an associate’s in pre-medicine from Darton College in Albany, Ga.
He also has completed multiple medical publications and is a member of the American Urological Association.
Dr. Powell is also trained in robot-assisted surgery techniques, enabling Tanner to continue to expand its robotic surgery program to offer urologic surgery options on its state-of-the-art robotic surgery platform.
At West Georgia Urology, Dr. Powell joins the patient care team of board-certified urology specialists James Cullison, MD, Kevin McLaughlin, MD, and John Pearson, MD. West Georgia Urology has practice locations in Carrollton, Villa Rica, Bremen and in the Tanner/East Alabama facility in Wedowee, Ala.
