Bank OZK Contributes $250,000 to Higgins General Hospital

Bank OZK has announced a $250,000 contribution to Higgins General Hospital in Bremen, Georgia.

“Bank OZK recognizes the value Higgins General Hospital provides to our community. The high-quality healthcare for which they are known is essential to the economic vitality of Haralson County. Providing our residents access to quality care close to home allows us to attract and retain businesses in Bremen and Haralson County, and the hospital itself is a major employer of quality jobs,” stated David Price, Bank OZK West Georgia Division President. Price added, “As a bank with strong roots to the community, we understand the importance of neighbors serving neighbors. Much like banking, personal connections and compassion in local healthcare makes all the difference. That’s why we are so pleased to support Higgins General Hospital.”

Bank OZK participated in the Georgia Rural Hospital Tax Credit program, facilitated by Georgia HEART. The program supports healthcare throughout the state by encouraging taxpayers to learn about the many challenges rural hospitals face and give them an opportunity to contribute, ensuring access to quality care for all Georgians.

“We are grateful for the support of Bank OZK and others throughout Georgia who have provided financial support for Higgins General Hospital and its mission to provide quality care to every member of our community,” said Loy Howard, president and CEO of Tanner Health System. “Rural hospitals face unique challenges, and this donation from Bank OZK helps ensure our neighbors continue to have local access to lifesaving medical care, right in their own community.”

According to David Edwards, Bank OZK Georgia President, Bank OZK is contributing a total of $360,000 to four rural Georgia Hospitals including Higgins General in Bremen. The $250,000 gift to Higgins General Hospital is one of the largest gifts to an individual hospital under Georgia HEART. “Access to outstanding healthcare is essential to the quality-of-life for Georgia residents. We are fortunate to have rural hospitals throughout the state with dedicated and compassionate providers offering high quality medical services,” Edwards stated. “We are pleased the contributions from Bank OZK will allow for additional investments in technology, equipment and facility enhancements.” Bank OZK has 69 offices in Georgia, including offices in Bremen, Buchanan and Tallapoosa, Georgia.
