Advancing Leadership: Tanner Leaders Assuming New Responsibilities

An update from Tanner Health System President and CEO Loy Howard:

With the Epic Focus initiative reshaping the way Tanner delivers patient care and the health system’s rapid growth in clinical services and facilities alike, it is critical we have the right leaders in the right roles to keep us moving forward.

Tanner is excited to announce an important change in its leadership that will ensure we have the vision and focus we need to thrive in the rapidly changing environment at hand and over the years to come.

Bonnie Boles, MD, MBA, Named Vice President of System Clinical Transformation

For about four years, Dr. Boles has served as administrator of Tanner Medical Center/Villa Rica, and for almost three years, she has held the dual role in serving as administrator of Higgins General Hospital in Bremen as well. In that time, she’s overseen almost $50 million in construction projects at the two facilities, as well as vital clinical growth including the accreditation of the chest pain center at Tanner Medical Center/Villa Rica and the primary stroke center designations for both facilities.

As Vice President of System Clinical Transformation, Dr. Boles will accept a new challenge focusing primarily on her role as the key physician executive on the Epic Focus initiative.

Dr. Boles came to Tanner in 2007, serving as a pulmonary and critical care medicine specialist in a Villa Rica Tanner Medical Group practice and as medical director of the ICU at Tanner Medical Center/Villa Rica. She earned her board certification in sleep medicine and helped launch the Tanner Center for Sleep Disorders’ Villa Rica sleep lab before assuming responsibilities as medical director of Tanner Medical Group. She also served as the physician champion of Tanner Medical Group’s last major electronic record transformation with the Greenway platform.
