According to Dr. Stanfill, a board-certified OB/GYN with Tanner Healthcare for Women, the procedure takes only 25-45 minutes and can be perfomed in a hospital or office setting, with discharge the same day and a return to normal activities in two days. Minimally Invasive Hysterectomy - Ryan Davis, MD Minimally invasive hysterectomy is usually a surgery suggested for women who are suffering from chronic pelvic pain or heavy abnormal menstrual bleeding that is not alleviated by hormone therapy.
